For All

Far East Movement released a music video for their song, "For All".  The music video features many celebrities with something they think is for all, written on their right hand as it is placed over their heart.  In between Far East Movement singing, and flashes of everyday people and celebrities, are clips of Obama's campaign.
          Love is For All
          Life is For All
          Dreams are For All
          Hope is For All
It's an inspiring song for all.  Check out the song and music video to "For All", below!

Psy on Ellen

Psy has been taking the world, but especially the United States, by storm.  Americans have opened their eyes and ears to Psy's "Gangname Style", and have learned to let loose and dance along.  Psy has been travelling around the United States and making appearances on the MTV VMAs, Today Show, SNL, Extra! and the Ellen DeGeneres Show twice!  On September 10, 2012, the first time Psy appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, he taught Britney Spears how to do the Gangname Style dance.  Today, Psy appeared for the second time on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, but this time for the studio audience and millions watching at home to see his infamous singing and dancing.  Check out Psy on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, below!

Psy's Backstage Message

Mike Song and Mama Song

I first got a glimpse of Mike Song when he was on Kaba Modern during the first season of MTV's America's Best Dance Crew.  Since then, he has become "an internationally renowned choreographer and dancer".  On September 5, 2012, Mike Song uploaded a video choreography he performed with his mom, to Psy's "Gangname Style".  Song released the video to his YouTube channel, and within two weeks the video has over 6 million views.  The video even caught the interest of Ellen DeGeneres, and she reached out to Song and wanted them to perform on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.  Today, on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Mike Song and Laura "Mama" Song performed their choreography for millions to see.  Coincidentally  (or intentionally), they performed their choreography during the same taping as Psy's second appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.  So Mike and Mama Song had the opportunity to meet Psy!  Check out Mike and Mama Song's original performance and their Ellen Show performance, below!

Monsters Calling Home on JKL

I first saw and heard Monsters Calling Home at Kollaboration SF 3.  Monsters Calling Home is an indie band made up of a group of six talented Korean Americans from Southern California.  Their music is folk tunes, with a personal touch to it.  Yesterday, Honda surprised Monsters Calling Home with the opportunity of performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live.  Check out the two performances of Monsters Calling Home on Jimmy Kimmel Live, below!

"Fight to Keep"

"Monsters Calling Home"

Honda Loves Monsters Calling Home

Honda has a segment called "Honda Loves You Back", and they picked the Monsters Calling Home to show some love back.  Back in April of 2012, Monsters Calling Home video recorded themselves performing and singing their song "Fight To Keep" in their Hondas.  Honda took notice of this video and decided to show some love back to Monsters Calling Home.  Honda invited the band to perform in front of 600 Honda executives.  But during sound check, a Honda representative said no one would be coming, and the band looked really bummed.  Another Honda representative asks if they could at least perform for the two of them, and band gets up and starts to sing their song.  But before a note could even be sung, the Honda representative interrupts and tells Monsters Calling Home why they are really there.  Even though the video is shot as a commercial, the surprise for Monsters Calling Home was really touching and I definitely teared up while watching.  Check out the Monsters Calling Home's surprise from Honda, below!

Lucky Guy

David Choi and Wong Fu Productions did it again! David and WongFu partnered up to bring fans an amazing music video for David's song "Lucky Guy".  "Lucky Guy" is a track off of David's album Forever and Ever.  "Lucky Guy" can be downloaded off of iTunes.  "Lucky Guy" was originally going to debut at ISA  2012 in NY, but due to circumstances it wasn't able to be carried out as planned.  So WongFu and David made changes and released the music video for fans, today!

In the "Lucky Guy" music video, WongFu takes the lyrics of the song to illustrate a story.  The music video starts off in a retirement community, and David is a guest performer and sings for the elderly.  While David is singing, there is an older man sitting and reminiscing about the old days, and WongFu takes us back to when the older man was a young fellow.  There is a young man, dressed in a military uniform, sitting in a car and finishing a letter he wrote.  The young man finishes his letter with, "He's a lucky guy".  He takes it to the doorstep of a house and leaves the letter at the doormat.  Just as he walks back to his car, a young lady walks out of the house and reads the letter.  In between these scenes, are shots of the older man remembering what happened.  The young lady walks over to the young man, and then another guy steps out of the house.  The young lady turns to the young man and says, "I'm so sorry".  The young man drives off and the young lady walks back to the house and embraces the other guy... the lucky guy.  At this point, I'm thinking, "Wow, a love triangle! Is the older man the guy in the uniform? Or is he the lucky guy?"  Thankfully, WongFu doesn't leave us hanging and answered my thoughts.  Watch the rest of the music video to find out who the older man is!  WongFu did another amazing job with this project, and David has another amazing music video.  Check out the song and music video to "Lucky Guy", below!

Darling It's You

Clara C and David Choi are touring together this Fall, and it's only fitting they have a duet together.  On July 26, 2012 they released their duet song "Darling It's You" on iTunes.  It's has a fun, cheerful, and catchy tune that goes well with the sweet lyrics.  Definitely one of those songs you can't help, but smile.  Today, Clara and David released their music video for "Darling It's You".  The music video starts off with Clara and David travelling on the road in a Mini Cooper.  They end up in an airplane graveyard, where there are a bunch of retired planes in a desert.  The music video was sponsored by YesStyle, so there were lots of wardrobe changes for both Clara and David, in the video.  Check out the song and music video to "Darling It's You", below!

Ktown Cowboys - Episode 1

So there is a reality show called, K-Town, that started today on LOUD's YouTube Channel, and it looks like a hot mess.  I guess all reality shows need to have some sort of chaos.  It took this reality show about two years to finally debut to the public.  I guess for the past two years, the producers have been trying to get a network to sign-on the show, but it didn't work out so they went to YouTube.  If you love reality shows with lots of drama, check out K-Town on LOUD's Channel.

But for this post, I wanted to share a similar concept that was shown back in May of 2010.  I like the storyline and layout of this web-series more than K-Town.  So instead of finishing the first episode of K-Town, I went back and watched Ktown CowboysDanny Cho and Daniel DPD Park bring viewers an insight to what a night in Koreatown (Ktown) is all about through this web-series, Ktown Cowboys.

Synopsis: When John Kim (Lanny Joon) relocates from the comforts of his
picket-fence, WASP neighborhood of Richmond, Virginia to the alluring city of
Ktown Los Angeles, the land of sultry women, Booking Clubs, and late night taco
trucks, his arrival immediately sparks the most epic night of his life. His cousin,
Jason (Shane Yoon) introduces John to his audacious crew (Peter Jae,
Danny Cho, Sunn Wee, and Bobby Big Phony Choy) who teach John the basic
yet inventive ways on how to survive the perfect Friday night in Ktown.

Alright

Aziatix is back to assure us that everything will be "alright".  About an hour ago, Aziatix released their music video to "Alright", on their YouTube channel.  "Alright" was produced by Jae Chong, and lyrics were collaboratively written by Flowsik, Eddie Shin, Nicky Lee, and Jae Chong.  "Alright" samples the chorus of Rockwell's 1980s hit "Somebody's Watching Me".

I always feel like somebody's watching me
And I have no privacy oh o oh
I always feel like somebody's watching me
Tell me is it just a dream oh o oh

"Alright" can be found off of Aziatix's latest EP, Awakening.  "Alirght" and the rest of Awakening can be downloaded off iTunes.  During promotions of "Speed of Light", Producer Jae Chong had mention Awakening, "will be an album that gives hope and strength to the new generation."  "Alright" definitely continues that message of hope.  The lyrics of "Alright", which stood out the most to me, were sung by Eddie and Nicky.

It feels like there's something trying to tell me
Everything is going to be alright, alright, alright
But I can't help look over my shoulders
Just to know it's going to be alright, alright, alright

Cellphone

Dumbfoundead released his music video to "Cellphone" on his YouTube channel.  The track features Breezy Lovejoy and Wax.  Cellphone's music video was directed by Casey Chan.  It's another one of Dumbfoundead's songs I find myself listening to it over and over.  I like the beats and how the lyrics tell a story.  The song reminds me of stories I would hear about from my dorm-mates, during my early college days.  Also, my friend recently lost her cellphone, so when I watched this music video I couldn't help but think she could relate some aspects of the music video.  Check out the song and music video to "Cellphone", below! Venus

Shinhwa is back!?!? Excuse my fan-girl excitement. Shinhwa is a South Korean boy band, who debuted in 1998.  Shinhwa consists of six members: Eric, Andy, Lee Min-Woo, Kim Dong-Wan, Shin Hye-Sung, and Jun Jin.  So I was first introduced to this group back in 2002, with their song "Perfect Man".  And I've been a fan of their music since.  Around 2008, the group had to put their careers on hold due to their mandatory military service.  After about four years, on March 23rd, the Shinhwa made their comeback and released their album The Return.  Check out the eleven tracks of The Return on iTunes! Today, Shinhwa released their music video to "Venus" on their YouTube channel.  "Venus" was produced by Gandalf Roudette-Muschamp, Andrew Jackson, and Joshua Thompson, with lyrics written by Lee Min-Woo, Andrew Jackson, Joshua Thompson, and Gandalf Roudette-Muschamp.  The music video was directed by Kim Kwang Suk.  Even though the members of Shinhwa are all in their 30s, they are still hot!  Check out the song and music video to "Venus", below!

Love's Little Helpers

I came upon this cute dance concept called "Love's Little Helpers".  The choreography was directed and choreographed by Haw of Prepix.  Haw's dance concept is having dancing angels help a boy and girl fall in love with each other.  Haw separated the dance concept with one with a perspective of the boy and the other with a perspective of the girl.  The track for the boy's perspective is "Then I  Saw You" sung by Jay Park.  "Then I  Saw You" was composed by S. Tiger and Jay Park.  The track for the girl's perspective is "Another Day" sung by G.NA featuring Dok2.  "Another Day" was composed by Rado, with lyrics by G.NA and Dok2.  Haw uploaded "Love's Little Helpers", with the track sung in English and Korean, to his YouTube channel.  Check out the two dance concepts, below!

Nothing Compares to You

At the end of 2011, Aziatix released the music video to "Nothing Compares to You", on their YouTube channel.  "Nothing Compares to You" was composed and produced by Jeff Miyahara and Erik Lidbom.  The track's lyrics were written by Jae Chong, Flowsik, Eddie Shin and Nicky Lee.  The music video is a montage of video footage captured during their tour to different countries.  On February 24th, Aziatix started their 2012 United States Tour, in Sacramento, California.  Aziatix will hit up thirteen cities, across the United States, and end their tour on April 1st in San Diego, California.  So be sure to check out their tour dates, to see if they will be performing at a city near you.  In the meantime, check out their song and music video to "Nothing Compares to You", below!

Still In Love With You

Back in 2011, Wang Lee Hom (王力宏) and Wong Fu Productions partnered up and worked on a music video for "Still in Love with You" (依然愛你).  According to Wong Fu Productions, they "only had about a week to prepare for this project, and they only had one day to film the music video".  But once again, Wong Fu Productions did an amazing job.  In October of 2011,  Wong Fu Productions  released the music video on their YouTube channel, and Wang Lee Hom released the music video for his fans on his YouTube channel.  Wong Fu Productions used the visual concept of a flip clock, which is an analog clock with a digital display.  In the music video, Wang Lee Hom is seen holding a retro flip clock and reflects on the times he had with that special lady.  And the music video's frames turn into a flip clock, with the couple's moments changing with every flip.  "Still in Love with You" is a track off of Wang Lee Hom's album, Open Fire.  The song talks about still being in love with that special someone.  "Still in Love with You" can be downloaded on iTunes, along with other songs from the album.  Check out the song and music video to "Still in Love with You", below!

Missing Piece

Yesterday, David Choi released his music video for "Missing Piece" on his YouTube channel.  "Missing Piece" is a track form his Forever and Ever album.  The music video was directed by Ross Ching (the same person who did this music video).  Ching always has an amazing, creative, and visual concept for music videos.  In the "Missing Piece" music video, Ching created the concept of a moving picture puzzle, with actual missing puzzle pieces.  The music video features Ellen Wong, and she puts together the pieces of the puzzle, while trying to find the missing pieces.  "Missing Piece" can be downloaded on iTunes, along with the rest of his album (This album is currently my default driving music).  On February 2nd, David kicked off his 2012 Forever & Ever Tour in Phoenix, Arizona.  He will end his tour on April 2nd in Chicago, Illinois.  So be sure to check out his tour dates to see if he will be performing at a city near you! Check out the song and music video to "Missing Piece", below!

Blue

Yesterday, Big Bang released their first single, "Blue", off their mini album, "Alive". "Blue" can be downloaded from iTunes.  Yesterday, Big Bang also released the music video to "Blue" on their YouTube channel, and the music video generated over 2 million views within one day.  Big Bang displays warm  vocals in "Blue" and the melody gives a warm feeling to one's heart.  It's a beautiful song, and I love their beautiful, soft vocals in.    Check out the song and music video to "Blue", below!

Falling

John Park is a Korean-American singer, who just debuted in South Korea. John grew up in Illinois and graduated from Northwestern University. In the beginning of 2010, John auditioned for American Idol's ninth season, and he made it to the Top 20. A little after his experience with American Idol, John auditioned for M. net's Superstar K2, a singing competition show in South Korea, and he was runner-up for season two. John is currently signed to Music Farm Entertainment, and he finally debuted in South Korea with the track, "Falling".  According to the YouTube description box, the track was composed by Andy Platts, and John wrote the lyrics to the song.  "Falling" is a sweet song about falling in love, and the song displays John's beautiful and soulful voice.  The music video is visually entertaining, with John in a shipping container box, as it was released from a flying cargo plane. During the music video, John is just singing and floating in the shipping container box, as the container box is falling thousands of feet in the air. Valentine

Because today is Valentine's Day in the United States, I thought I would share one last song. Two years ago, Kina Grannis released her song, "Valentine", but it never gets old.  Kina released the music video for "Valentine" on her YouTube channel.  The music video was directed by Ross Ching, and he did an amazing job with such a simple concept.  Ching used the concept of a flip book and dominoes, and created a cute story to go along with Kina's sweet song about love.  "Valentine" can be downloaded on iTunes or Amazon.  Check out the song and music video to "Valentine", below!   Oh, and Happy Valentine's Day <3

Coffee Tables

In the beginning of the year, Gifted On West East (Gowe) released his music video for "Coffee Tables", on his YouTube channel.  Gowe samples beats from "Aruarian Dance" of Nujabes, a Japanese hip hop producer.  The "Coffee Tables" lyrics illustrates the sweet interaction of two individuals having a special connection, over coffee.  The "Coffee Tables" music video was directed by Steven Zhang.  I love the cinematography and how the story is beautifully illuminated, in sync with Gowe's lyrics.  I also love how the two coffee cups were used to show a connection between the two individuals, during the music video.  Gowe allowed "Coffee Tables" to be downloaded for FREE in exchange for a tweet.  Check out the song and music video to "Coffee Tables", below!

"Love" Lyrics:
Verse 1
Now Hollywood wants to make you think they know what love is. But I'm a tell you what true love is. Love is not what you see in the movies. Its not the ecstasy, its not what you see in that scene, you know what I mean? I'm telling you right now, true love is sacrifice. Love is thinking about others before you think about yourself, love is selfless not selfish. Love is God and God is love. Love is when you lay down your life for another, whether for your brother, your mother, your father or your sister, its even laying down your life for your enemies, that's unthinkable, but think about that. Love is true. Think.

Chorus:
I'll put you in front of me
So everybody can see
My love, this is my love

I know that I'll be alright
As long as you are my guide
My love, this is my love

Verse 2
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, it always perseveres.
Love never fails. Love is everlasting, its eternal, it goes on and on, it goes beyond time, love is the only thing that will last when you die, but ask the question why? Do you have love?

Chorus

Verse 3
There is no greater love than this than he who lays down his life for his friends. Now are you willing to lay down your life for your friends? You're probably willing to lay down your life for your mother, your father, or your best friends, but are you willing to lay down your life for even those that hate you? I'm going to tell you who did that, the definition of love is Jesus Christ. He is love. The nails in his hands, the thorns in his brow, hanging on a cross for your sin my sins, that is LOVE he died for you and me while we still hated him, that is love. God is true love, and if you don't know this love, now is the time to know, perfect love.

Chorus

SHANGHAI CALLING is a romantic comedy about modern-day American immigrants
in an unfamiliar land.  When an ambitious New York attorney is sent to Shanghai on
assignment, he immediately stumbles into a legal mess that could spell the end of his
career.  But with help from a beautiful relocation specialist, a well-connected foreign
businessman, a clever but unassuming journalist, and a street-smart assistant, Sam
might just save his job, discover romance, and learn to appreciate the many wonders
          Shanghai has to offer.

A release date for the movie has not been announced yet. (Follow them on Twitter for the latest release updates).  After watching the trailer, "Shanghai Calling" looks like a fun movie and I can't wait to see it (I'm a sucker for romantic comedies).  Also, I am a little jealous of Eliza Coupe.  If you are a Daniel Henney fan, just watch the trailer and you will understand (You will also be thankful for one closet scene).  Check out the trailer for "Shanghai Calling", below!

Heaven

Ailee is a Korean-American singer from New Jersey.  I have been following her singing through her YouTube channel, since 2008.  She has a beautiful, yet powerful voice.  Ailee made her way to South Korea, and had the opportunity to work and train with Wheesung.  In September 2011, on MBC's Chuseok special program called “Singer and Trainee“, Ailee demonstrated her powerful vocals and was placed first by a panel of judges.  She currently has a role in the KBS drama, "Dream High 2", where she is part of a three-member girl group.  This past week, she debuted her music video for the song, "Heaven", and started promoting as a singer in South Korea.  It's beautiful to see Ailee's passion and journey of singing to continue to grow, as opportunities open up for her.  Check out the song and music video of "Heaven", below!

Perseverance

Gifted On West East (Gowe) has done it again, and wrote an amazing track.  This song was inspired by Jeremy Lin's basketball journey.  This past week, Jeremy Lin has been making a buzz among the sports channels and the social media outlets.  Lin worked together with his team, the New York Knicks, to bring home three consecutive wins.  The past three games, Lin scored an average of about 25 points per game.  After the New York Knicks vs. Utah Jazz game, Gowe wrote, recorded, and put together a music video, all within twenty hours.  Gowe released the music video on his YouTube channel, and the song is titled "Perseverance (The Jeremy Lin Story)".  The song takes listeners on Lin's basketball journey, in three different stages of his life - high school, college, and currently now in the NBA. Gowe sampled the old NBA on NBC theme song, and his lyrics and the beats blend well together.  I really like the hook of the song:

Is this real? Cause I made it to my dream
They said I could never be anything I want to be
And so even if it hurts all the temporary pain
doesn't bother me at all cause you will make it one day

Check out the song and music video, which highlights Lin's basketball journey, below!
