Nothing Compares to You

At the end of 2011, Aziatix released the music video to "Nothing Compares to You", on their YouTube channel.  "Nothing Compares to You" was composed and produced by Jeff Miyahara and Erik Lidbom.  The track's lyrics were written by Jae Chong, Flowsik, Eddie Shin and Nicky Lee.  The music video is a montage of video footage captured during their tour to different countries.  On February 24th, Aziatix started their 2012 United States Tour, in Sacramento, California.  Aziatix will hit up thirteen cities, across the United States, and end their tour on April 1st in San Diego, California.  So be sure to check out their tour dates, to see if they will be performing at a city near you.  In the meantime, check out their song and music video to "Nothing Compares to You", below!

Still In Love With You

Back in 2011, Wang Lee Hom (王力宏) and Wong Fu Productions partnered up and worked on a music video for "Still in Love with You" (依然愛你).  According to Wong Fu Productions, they "only had about a week to prepare for this project, and they only had one day to film the music video".  But once again, Wong Fu Productions did an amazing job.  In October of 2011,  Wong Fu Productions  released the music video on their YouTube channel, and Wang Lee Hom released the music video for his fans on his YouTube channel.  Wong Fu Productions used the visual concept of a flip clock, which is an analog clock with a digital display.  In the music video, Wang Lee Hom is seen holding a retro flip clock and reflects on the times he had with that special lady.  And the music video's frames turn into a flip clock, with the couple's moments changing with every flip.  "Still in Love with You" is a track off of Wang Lee Hom's album, Open Fire.  The song talks about still being in love with that special someone.  "Still in Love with You" can be downloaded on iTunes, along with other songs from the album.  Check out the song and music video to "Still in Love with You", below!

Missing Piece

Yesterday, David Choi released his music video for "Missing Piece" on his YouTube channel.  "Missing Piece" is a track form his Forever and Ever album.  The music video was directed by Ross Ching (the same person who did this music video).  Ching always has an amazing, creative, and visual concept for music videos.  In the "Missing Piece" music video, Ching created the concept of a moving picture puzzle, with actual missing puzzle pieces.  The music video features Ellen Wong, and she puts together the pieces of the puzzle, while trying to find the missing pieces.  "Missing Piece" can be downloaded on iTunes, along with the rest of his album (This album is currently my default driving music).  On February 2nd, David kicked off his 2012 Forever & Ever Tour in Phoenix, Arizona.  He will end his tour on April 2nd in Chicago, Illinois.  So be sure to check out his tour dates to see if he will be performing at a city near you! Blue

Yesterday, Big Bang released their first single, "Blue", off their mini album, "Alive". "Blue" can be downloaded from iTunes.  Yesterday, Big Bang also released the music video to "Blue" on their YouTube channel, and the music video generated over 2 million views within one day.  Big Bang displays warm  vocals in "Blue" and the melody gives a warm feeling to one's heart.  It's a beautiful song, and I love their beautiful, soft vocals in.    Check out the song and music video to "Blue", below!
Warning: If you listen to "Blue" more than once, you might find yourself randomly singing, "I'm singing my blues".

Falling

John Park is a Korean-American singer, who just debuted in South Korea. John grew up in Illinois and graduated from Northwestern University. In the beginning of 2010, John auditioned for American Idol's ninth season, and he made it to the Top 20. A little after his experience with American Idol, John auditioned for M. net's Superstar K2, a singing competition show in South Korea, and he was runner-up for season two. John is currently signed to Music Farm Entertainment, and he finally debuted in South Korea with the track, "Falling".  According to the YouTube description box, the track was composed by Andy Platts, and John wrote the lyrics to the song.  "Falling" is a sweet song about falling in love, and the song displays John's beautiful and soulful voice.  The music video is visually entertaining, with John in a shipping container box, as it was released from a flying cargo plane. During the music video, John is just singing and floating in the shipping container box, as the container box is falling thousands of feet in the air. Valentine

Because today is Valentine's Day in the United States, I thought I would share one last song. Two years ago, Kina Grannis released her song, "Valentine", but it never gets old.  Kina released the music video for "Valentine" on her YouTube channel.  The music video was directed by Ross Ching, and he did an amazing job with such a simple concept.  Ching used the concept of a flip book and dominoes, and created a cute story to go along with Kina's sweet song about love.  "Valentine" can be downloaded on iTunes or Amazon.  Check out the song and music video to "Valentine", below!   Oh, and Happy Valentine's Day <3

Coffee Tables

In the beginning of the year, Gifted On West East (Gowe) released his music video for "Coffee Tables", on his YouTube channel.  Gowe samples beats from "Aruarian Dance" of Nujabes, a Japanese hip hop producer.  The "Coffee Tables" lyrics illustrates the sweet interaction of two individuals having a special connection, over coffee.  The "Coffee Tables" music video was directed by Steven Zhang.  I love the cinematography and how the story is beautifully illuminated, in sync with Gowe's lyrics.  I also love how the two coffee cups were used to show a connection between the two individuals, during the music video.  Gowe allowed "Coffee Tables" to be downloaded for FREE in exchange for a tweet.  Check out the song and music video to "Coffee Tables", below!

Love

Jaeson Ma is a Chinese-American pastor, actor and Christian rapper.  In 2009, Jaeson released his first single "Love", which features Bruno Mars.  The track was produced by Kevnish of Far East Movement, Charles Jones, and Lillian Ng.  To help promote "Love", Jaeson released a music video on his YouTube channel.  Jaeson also made it available on iTunes and Amazon, to spread some love.  Check out the song and music video of "Love", below!

"Love" Lyrics:
Verse 1
Now Hollywood wants to make you think they know what love is. But I'm a tell you what true love is. Love is not what you see in the movies. Its not the ecstasy, its not what you see in that scene, you know what I mean? I'm telling you right now, true love is sacrifice. Love is thinking about others before you think about yourself, love is selfless not selfish. Love is God and God is love. Love is when you lay down your life for another, whether for your brother, your mother, your father or your sister, its even laying down your life for your enemies, that's unthinkable, but think about that. Love is true. Think.

Chorus:
I'll put you in front of me
So everybody can see
My love, this is my love

I know that I'll be alright
As long as you are my guide
My love, this is my love

Verse 2
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, it always perseveres.
Love never fails. Love is everlasting, its eternal, it goes on and on, it goes beyond time, love is the only thing that will last when you die, but ask the question why? Do you have love?

Chorus

Verse 3
There is no greater love than this than he who lays down his life for his friends. Now are you willing to lay down your life for your friends? You're probably willing to lay down your life for your mother, your father, or your best friends, but are you willing to lay down your life for even those that hate you? I'm going to tell you who did that, the definition of love is Jesus Christ. He is love. The nails in his hands, the thorns in his brow, hanging on a cross for your sin my sins, that is LOVE he died for you and me while we still hated him, that is love. God is true love, and if you don't know this love, now is the time to know, perfect love.

Chorus

Shanghai Calling

Shanghai Calling is a romantic comedy, written and directed by Daniel Hsia.  The movie stars Daniel Henney, Eliza Coupe, Bill Paxton, Geng Le, Zhu Zhu, and Alan Ruck.  Here is the synopsis from Shanghai Calling's website:
SHANGHAI CALLING is a romantic comedy about modern-day American immigrants
in an unfamiliar land.  When an ambitious New York attorney is sent to Shanghai on
assignment, he immediately stumbles into a legal mess that could spell the end of his
career.  But with help from a beautiful relocation specialist, a well-connected foreign
businessman, a clever but unassuming journalist, and a street-smart assistant, Sam
might just save his job, discover romance, and learn to appreciate the many wonders
          Shanghai has to offer.

A release date for the movie has not been announced yet. (Follow them on Twitter for the latest release updates).  After watching the trailer, "Shanghai Calling" looks like a fun movie and I can't wait to see it (I'm a sucker for romantic comedies).  Also, I am a little jealous of Eliza Coupe.  If you are a Daniel Henney fan, just watch the trailer and you will understand (You will also be thankful for one closet scene).  Check out the trailer for "Shanghai Calling", below!

Heaven

Ailee is a Korean-American singer from New Jersey.  I have been following her singing through her YouTube channel, since 2008.  She has a beautiful, yet powerful voice.  Ailee made her way to South Korea, and had the opportunity to work and train with Wheesung.  In September 2011, on MBC's Chuseok special program called “Singer and Trainee“, Ailee demonstrated her powerful vocals and was placed first by a panel of judges.  She currently has a role in the KBS drama, "Dream High 2", where she is part of a three-member girl group.  This past week, she debuted her music video for the song, "Heaven", and started promoting as a singer in South Korea.  It's beautiful to see Ailee's passion and journey of singing to continue to grow, as opportunities open up for her.  Check out the song and music video of "Heaven", below!

Perseverance

Gifted On West East (Gowe) has done it again, and wrote an amazing track.  This song was inspired by Jeremy Lin's basketball journey.  This past week, Jeremy Lin has been making a buzz among the sports channels and the social media outlets.  Lin worked together with his team, the New York Knicks, to bring home three consecutive wins.  The past three games, Lin scored an average of about 25 points per game.  After the New York Knicks vs. Utah Jazz game, Gowe wrote, recorded, and put together a music video, all within twenty hours.  Gowe released the music video on his YouTube channel, and the song is titled "Perseverance (The Jeremy Lin Story)".  The song takes listeners on Lin's basketball journey, in three different stages of his life - high school, college, and currently now in the NBA. Gowe sampled the old NBA on NBC theme song, and his lyrics and the beats blend well together.  I really like the hook of the song:

Is this real? Cause I made it to my dream
They said I could never be anything I want to be
And so even if it hurts all the temporary pain
doesn't bother me at all cause you will make it one day

Check out the song and music video, which highlights Lin's basketball journey, below!
